Day 4
Today we visited all of the orphanages and delivered supplies, as I mentioned earlier. We went to PIO and SFODA, and went past the trash dump kids/workers. We got very attached to the kids at PIO in particular, and I found a new little friend, whose name was Itan. Nikko, Ava and I all found a new brother in Visnu, who is 16 and going into the 12th grade, which starts in October for the first time. He is very funny and witty, and very smart.
We had a huge dance-off at PIO, and we all had so much fun, and there was a lot of sweating going on. There was one boy, whose name I cannot remember, and he was amazing. He should be on MTV sometime, or So You Think You Can Dance? He was so upbeat, and he and the other older boys and girls at PIO did two traditional dances for us. One was for the males to attract the attention of the girls, and the other was just... for fun. They were so in-sync and expressive, that they should all be touring throughout the U.S.
It was very hard to leave our brothers and sisters at PIO, and none of us can even begin to imagine what it will feel like to leave our family that we have grown to love at CPO. We haven't seen our CPO family in one day, and even now we miss them.
At SFODA, I got a painting. I can't tell you what it is yet, because it's a surprise, but you will see when we get home.

Day 3
Today was another day at the CPO orphanage. It rained for the first time when we were here, and we were playing in the mud for at least an hour. Houen and I had a mud-fight, and I was so dirty and wet from the rain afterwards, that I felt guilty for getting in the tuk-tuk and making it messy. We also delivered shoes, and the girls that did get shoes walked around with the biggest smiles on their faces afterward.
We also went to the slums. It was so sad and also somewhat inspiring to make me do what I can in life to make their lives better in any way that I can. Little boys ran around naked, and a few were running around with beer bottles for their fathers. We met a few of the kids' mothers, and they were so smiley and happy that their kids were in a good environment. The standing water and sewer smelled so bad and the kids that lived near it were playing in it constantly, and they all looked so excited that they got to have something to play with. I want so much to be able to come back here and help them improve their living conditions.
We planted the garden that we made from dead grass the other day, and it looks good and will provide adequate meals for them.
Sorry that this blog is so long! I just can't stop writing about how excited we all are to be here. I will try to write soon. Love, Camryn
